Play a game of names with a tiny vampire, practice saying please and thank you while trick-or-treating, and chase a candy thief through your books so you can send it away!

Spooktacular Bookmarks is a collection of three bookmarks created for Halloween fun. Two of the games can easily be played anytime of the year, though they do have a strong Halloween vibe to them.

In Vocabulary Vampire, players have found a tiny vampire who loves to snuggle up in books during the day and be read to at night. Use the names in books to discover what the name of their new friend is, and are encouraged to draw a picture of their new friend.

In Thanks-for-Treating, players are reminded that Halloween can be a great time of year for treats and gratitude. Cross off a box in each category each time a please or thank you is used, and get a picture with the back of the bookmark stating just how polite this trick-or-treater is.

In Candy Thief, players chase a candy thief through their books by finding words that start with the letters they need to cross off. There are three different difficulties to choose from based on the frequency of how often words beginning with different letters tend to come up within texts*.

All games are in bookmark form so they can be used even after the games are done. Print them out for trick-or-treaters as a supplement or alternative to candy.

All three games come in full color and printer friendly versions. Their are also different forms for ease of use.

  • The double-sided single bookmarks to print one at a time.
  • The foldable bookmark that doesn't require printing on both sides, only some cutting and taping/gluing.
  • Sheets of four duplicate bookmarks for each game for ease of printing multiples of your favorites.
  • A combo page of all three bookmark games so you can get a variety all at once.

There's even a business card version of Thanks-for-Treating, both full color and printer friendly, in case that's your young player's preference while on the move.

* The source for letter frequency as the first letter of an English word.

These are cute! I really like the Vampire one for young readers! The black background means a lot of ink when printing these out. It would be great to have a printer-friendly version, please!

Thank you very much! And absolutely; I'm actually working on that right now to be friendlier to printers ;)

Created the printer friendly versions for Vocabulary Vampire and working on the other two now!

Huzzah, thank you!!

Absolutely! Cheers!
